" Anime Screening" is Lau’s illustration showed at the subsidiary event of Takashi Murakami’s exhibition, “MURAKAMI vs MURAKAMI” in Tai Kwun.
In the event, Takashi Murakami personally selected and screened several Japanese animations that had the deepest impacts on him, so Lau combined the two concepts of screening and Japanese animation and created a series of works.
Different from “A Boy Who Wants to Be in the Anime World,” this work brings adults into focus and shows a group of adults sitting down and watching TV. It features some old tube TV sets and reflects Lau’s remarkable skill of combining multiple perspectives and spaces, depicting the activity of watching TV from different directions and angles
